Forceful and fresh are words we typically use to describe a power pop act, not the first album of a British rapper based in Berlin. Lexodus, AKA Alexander Linton, is a UFO in the landscape of current hip-hop, touching on funky 80’s benchmarks like De La Soul or Boogie Down Productions, but also staying in the present with darker influences like the 21st century label Anticon. Lexodus' music is unique, producing a sound from both modern and old school elements, while successfully avoiding labels like “revival.”

Lexodus’ love of music traces its origins to his childhood in England, where he was first exposed to jazz and funk via his father’s record collection. As a teenager, he was engrossed in the music of London, detouring from his jazz and funk foundations to metal, Ministry of Sound productions and American hip-hop. These influences contribute depth to Lexodus’ music, producing a sound which is rich and much more complex than it would seem at first glance.
